British Army Desert Windproof Smocks

These are the current combat jacket / smock that the British Army are issued when serving in the military today. They are also worn by cadets and many civilian personal as they are almost indestructible and will last the wearer for many years to come. 

The smock is cut to fit more loosely, allowing it to fit over other layers of clothing more easily. It is closed in the front with a high central windproof zipper, additionally covered by a Velcro flap, which allows the jacket to be closed over the neck. The smock is made from water resistant and windproof material and the hood is wired so can be shaped over the mouth if required. The smock features 4 expanding front pockets with characteristic slotted buttons. These buttons are all of an overlarge type, to ease use by cold or gloved fingers. The jacket also has a 2 large dump pockets left and right as well as small knife pouch to the shoulder of the right arm along with a union jack flag. What is more it has drawstring neck, bottom and internal drawstring waist, complete with reinforced elbows and shoulder areas for maximum durability.
